Malina Styan, MPT

Malina Styan, MPT received her B.S. in Kinesiology San Diego State University and Masters in Physical Therapy at California State University, Northridge in 2009 and has been a practicing outpatient orthopedic Physical Therapist in San Diego since.  Malina grew up in Hawaii where she learned the benefits of physical activity through various sports including tennis, swimming, running, biking, and canoe paddling.  With her healing nature and desire to incorporate exercise as a form of medicine, she was drawn towards the field of physical therapy.  Malina specializes in a whole body approach to physical therapy by incorporating functional movement techniques and Pilates principles with manual techniques such as myofascial release, joint mobilizations, and muscle energy.  Malina has a passion for Pilates and has been teaching Pilates since 2009.  She has been trained in SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) and incorporates this in to her physical therapy treatments.  When not working, she loves to enjoy life by being outside with nature and her family- her two young daughters and husband.
