Patient Information regarding Preventive Exams

For most insurance carriers, preventive services such as physical exams, well child checks and well woman exams are a covered benefit.

This is to advise you that if you wish to address a medical problem (new or ongoing) during your preventive visit, your insurance carrier does not consider that part of the preventive physical exam. Your insurance may determine that a copayment is due for those services.

Certain vaccines such as Zostavax or Tdap may not be covered through your medical benefits and it is recommended to check your pharmacy benefits (Part D for Medicare) for coverage.

Charges for your visit are not finalized until all charges are submitted to your insurance. Insurance coverage varies by health plan, group, employer, service and diagnosis. If you have any questions, members of our Business Office staff are available to assist you at (619) 229-3920 ext. 774.
